Mowj Rooms — Privacy Policy

Mowj Rooms is a browser extension that lets a group of friends listen to YouTube Music in sync. It does not stream, record, or transmit any audio. This page describes the small amount of data it handles.

What the extension stores

• An anonymous user ID, created by Firebase Anonymous Authentication. It is a random identifier not linked to your name, email, or Google account.
• A display name shown to other members of a room you join (auto-generated unless you set one).
• Room state: the currently playing track ID, playlist ID, playback position, and a "last seen" timestamp for members of a room.

Where it is stored

Room state lives in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), operated by the extension developer. Rooms are deleted when the host ends them. No data is sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising or analytics.

What the extension does not collect

• No browsing history, no data from any site other than youtube.com / music.youtube.com.
• No personal information, email addresses, or account details.
• No audio, and no record of your listening outside an active room.

Permissions

The extension runs only on music.youtube.com and www.youtube.com, where it synchronizes the built-in player with other room members. It requests no other browser permissions.
